With the states finally opening up and staying open, it’s time to leave the house and explore. This being said, if you’re ready to go out but don’t know where to go – I highly recommend taking a trip to the Barossa Valley, just outside of Adelaide in South Australia.

If you live in South Australia, you can colour me jealous. The fact that this spectacular place is close enough to drive is completely unfair. If, sadly, you are sharing my boat, don’t worry – At the moment flights to Adelaide are monumentally cheap. It is extremely easy to rent or hire a car to take you from the Adelaide Internal Airport to anywhere in the Valley. Then once you’ve arrived, this weekend really turns into a choose your own adventure-type holiday!

Starting with your lodgings; there are endless options available to you via Airbnb, VRBO and hotels. From there, you will be able to set the entire mood of your holiday. Take for instance if you choose to stay in a hotel room. You will be surrounded by everything that is sleek, modern, clean and serene. However, if you are looking for more of an escape and a connection to nature, take a look at the rustic cabin options that VRBO and Airbnb offer. Here you will be able to completely shut off and recharge.

While staying in the Valley, you will find a plethora of activities. These range from going on a walk down one of the three Barossa Goldfield Trails, Exploring the Anlaby House, spending an afternoon in the Blacksmith shop and so much more.

Hint – the more includes wine, the drink that makes Barossa Valley so famous. Seriously, it is extremely easy to find yourself at the bottom of a wine barrel!

Due to the Mediterranean-like climate in this area, vineyards in this region are able to produce grapes that are perfect for the boldest of reds to the lightest of whites. Along with everything in between. This in combination with the awe-inspiring view that you’ll be able to take in between sips, makes for a perfect weekend getaway.
